Palucca School of Dance, Dresden

The Palucca School occupies a modern building complex with eleven dance studios, physiotherapy facilities, and educational spaces at Basteiplatz in Dresden.

Gret Palucca established the dance institution in 1925, initially teaching in her apartment before expanding to multiple locations throughout Dresden.

Students participate in approximately 100 performances annually, collaborating with professional companies including the Semperoper Ballett and The Forsythe Company.

The institution provides comprehensive education from age ten, combining regular academic studies with professional dance training in ballet, contemporary, and improvisation techniques.

The school maintains its position as Germany's single independent dance university, offering bachelor's and master's degrees in dance performance, education, and choreography.
