Pfundsmuseum is a technical museum in Hofbieber housing over ten thousand measuring tools and scales displayed across seven rooms on two floors. The museum was founded in 2001 and preserves measuring devices from five thousand years of human history. Its collection includes artifacts from ancient civilizations in China, Afghanistan, and Africa, demonstrating how weighing and measuring technologies developed across continents and cultures.

The collection shows specialized scales from different professions like pharmacies, households, commerce, and crafts, reflecting how various groups measured and weighed in their daily work. You can see how these tools shaped the way people organized trade, cooking, and construction across different trades.

The location is easy to reach on foot and the entrance is clearly marked. It is best to visit during April through October when the museum is open on weekends and conditions for viewing are most favorable.
