Ragower Mühle, Watermill in Siehdichum, Germany.
Ragower Mühle is a watermill in Siehdichum located where hiking trails cross in the Naturpark Schlaubetal. The structure still harnesses water power to demonstrate how grain was ground using traditional methods.
The mill was built more than 200 years ago as an industrial grain processing facility. It operated continuously until 1951, after which the Börner family transformed it into a place where traditional crafting techniques could be preserved and shared.
The mill served as a gathering place for the region's residents who brought their grain to be processed. Today, visitors can experience how daily life once revolved around water power and traditional grinding work.
The site opens Thursday through Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00, with a restaurant and beer garden providing food and drink. Visitors arriving on foot can use the hiking trails that pass directly by the building.
The site maintains its own vegetable garden and works with local beekeepers to source fresh produce for the restaurant. This direct link between production and the kitchen gives visitors a sense of where their food comes from.
