Schloss Wissen

Schloss Wissen is a residential château in Weeze featuring classical Baroque design with symmetrical wings and a central courtyard. The limestone façade displays decorative stone elements and is surrounded by four connected moats that create a rectangular island setting.

The building evolved from a medieval fortification into a residential château during the late 17th century, incorporating new architectural approaches. This transformation shaped the structure visitors see today.

The château functions as a venue for regional art displays and presentations of local historical objects from the area. Visitors encounter the past of North Rhine-Westphalia as they move through its rooms.

Guided tours are available from Tuesday to Sunday between April and October, with parking near the main entrance. Allow time to explore both the interior spaces and the grounds surrounding the moats.
