Platnersberg, Public park in Erlenstegen, Germany
Platnersberg is a public park in Erlenstegen situated at roughly 335 meters elevation with sloping terrain and grassy open areas. Multiple pathways cross through the space and connect different sections of the grounds.
The park's name comes from Georg Zacharias Platner, who purchased the land in 1836. Before that, the hill was called Künschrottenberg.
A fountain with a bear motif references a local tale about an animal encounter that once took place on this hill. The name and its imagery remain part of how people relate to the place today.
The western section has a children's playground built in 2004 where younger visitors can play. Large grassy areas throughout make good spots for relaxing and sunbathing.
Ten trees in the park gained natural monument status in 1996, including one with a notably thick trunk. These protected trees are an important part of the park's ecosystem and speak to its age and ecological value.
