St. Nikolai, Baroque church in Lübbenau, Germany
The St. Nikolai church stands in the center of Lübbenau's old town, featuring tall arched windows and a three-story western tower with bells.
The construction of St. Nikolai church began in 1738 under architect Johann Gottfried Findeisen and reached completion in 1741, replacing an earlier structure from 1640.
The interior preserves original Saxon Baroque furnishings, including an altar from 1741 created by artists from the Saxon court with imagery symbolizing victory over death.
The church holds regular Sunday services at 10:30 AM and operates special winter services in the parish house from January through Palm Sunday.
The church maintains a bronze baptismal angel from 1864 and contains multiple historical tombstones, including the 1765 memorial of Hieronimus de Weding.
