Schloss Baruth/Mark

Schloss Baruth/Mark is a baroque castle in Brandenburg comprising buildings that span multiple historical periods. The complex displays various architectural styles that developed across different eras.

A fortress originally stood on this site in the 13th century, while the present castle was built in 1671. Major restoration work took place between 2009 and 2013.

The castle functions today as a regional cultural center where exhibitions and events take place in rooms that blend historical features with contemporary design. You experience here how the old halls serve modern purposes.

The castle is located in the town center of Baruth/Mark and also houses the city administration. Keep in mind that certain parts may not always be open to visitors due to administrative use.

The adjacent castle park was designed in 1838 by court gardener Peter Joseph Lenné and retains original drainage channels, ponds, and ancient trees. This grounds offer a quiet contrast to the surrounding town and display historical garden design.
