Schloss Ippenburg

Schloss Ippenburg is a neo-Gothic castle with extensive gardens comprising various sections such as a kitchen garden, rose garden, and water play area. The grounds extend across multiple interconnected garden areas that together offer a diverse landscape experience.

The castle was first documented in 1345 as castrum Ybbenborg, but the current structure was built between 1862 and 1867 under Count Wilhelm von dem Bussche. This reconstruction shaped the entire layout and appearance that survives to the present day.

The gardens reflect a family passion for garden design, with distinct sections displaying different styles and plant varieties. Visitors can observe how each garden area combines different functions and designs, from formal arrangements to more natural spaces.
