Schloss Krobnitz

Schloss Krobnitz is a three-story manor house with neoclassical architecture, distinguished by a mansard roof, balustrade, and symmetrically arranged windows in its stone facade. The complex includes a former smithy, stables, and estate inspector's house that together form a complete historical ensemble.

The estate first appeared in records in 1315 and underwent its greatest transformation when Prussian War Minister Albrecht von Roon purchased it in 1873 and renovated it following Berlin's architectural style. The family left their mark through major investments, including the construction of a family crypt in 1876 and a later Gothic-style chapel.

The manor displays exhibits about the life and influence of Albrecht von Roon, whose family shaped its character and purpose. Today its restored rooms regularly host concerts and lectures that keep the estate active as a cultural gathering place for the region.

The grounds are easy to explore since the different buildings sit close together and a connected walk around the entire site is possible. Visitors should allow time for the park area, especially if they want to see the cemetery chapel and burial crypt.

The park contains a family burial crypt built in 1876 and a later Gothic-style chapel constructed by Waldemar von Roon, offering an unusual glimpse of religious architecture on the estate grounds. This funerary ensemble is a notable part of the complex that many visitors overlook.
