Sonderwaffenlager Finsterwalde

Sonderwaffenlager Finsterwalde is a Soviet military depot in Finsterwalde that contains a large reinforced bunker measuring approximately 70 meters long and 10 meters wide. The structure featured two heavy hydraulic doors that allowed vehicle access while providing secure storage for military equipment.

The depot was established in 1961 to support Soviet military operations in East Germany during the Cold War. It remained an important storage facility for the Group of Soviet Forces until the Soviet withdrawal from the region.

The installation represents a significant period of military presence in East Germany, demonstrating the scale of Soviet operations during the Cold War period.
