St. Jakobi, Gothic church in Hildesheim, Germany.
The St. Jakobi church features a trapezoidal floor plan, tall Gothic windows, and a multi-story western tower in the center of Hildesheim.
Originally built between 1503 and 1514, the church suffered extensive damage during World War II and underwent complete reconstruction from 1948 to 1949.
Since 2014, the church functions as a literary center, hosting author readings, exhibitions, concerts, and creative writing workshops throughout the year.
The building stands at the intersection of Jakobistrasse and Almsstrasse pedestrian zone, approximately one kilometer north of Hildesheim main station.
The structure combines its religious heritage with modern literary programs, featuring discussions about technology, androids, and contemporary writing in a 500-year-old pilgrimage church.
