St. Johannes Baptist, Donaueschingen

St. Johannes Baptist features a double-tower facade facing south, displaying ornate details characteristic of German baroque religious architecture from the 18th century.

The construction of this religious edifice commenced in 1724 and reached completion in 1747, followed by a substantial interior renovation concluded in 2009.

The interior houses numerous religious artworks, including statues of saints Andrew, Philip, Matthew, and James, along with a high altar completed in 1751.

The church contains an organ built in 1963 by the Überlingen-based Mönch company, comprising 41 registers, three manuals, and a pedal system.

A memorial plaque within the church honors Reverend Heinrich Feurstein, who lost his life in a concentration camp during 1942.
