St. Johannes am Vorderanger

St. Johannes am Vorderanger is a baroque church building in Landsberg am Lech featuring an oval interior supported by eight pillars. Its layout combines a rectangular nave with a semicircular choir section that forms the eastern end.

A church was first documented at this location in 1219, with construction of the current building beginning in 1458 under an abbot. The structure grew into a major religious center over the following centuries.

The church displays numerous religious artworks throughout its interior spaces. Visitors can find works by local craftsmen across several centuries that reflect the artistic traditions of the region.
