The English Theatre of Hamburg occupies a converted spa building in the Hamburg-Nord district with a 160-seat auditorium. The venue hosts plays performed entirely in English on its stage.
History
The theatre was founded in 1976 and relocated to its present spa-building location in 1981. Since then it has remained the only professional English-language theatre company operating continuously in Germany.
