The English Theatre of Hamburg operates in a converted medicinal bath building at Lerchenfeld 14, offering performances in an auditorium with 160 seats.
The theatre, established in 1976 by Robert Rumpf and Clifford Dean, moved to its current location in 1981 in a former Hammonia Bad building.
Professional actors trained in London perform classical and modern British and American plays under the direction of Paul Glaser since 2017.
The theatre presents performances from September through June, with limited wheelchair access available at the venue in the Hamburg-Nord district.
This establishment holds the distinction of being the first and oldest professional English language theatre established in Germany.
