The structure was built in 2004 by beekeeper Volker Sieradzki as an intended environmental center for children. The project encountered conflicts with authorities in Bergstrasse district who raised concerns about missing building permits.

Practical
The location remained open to visitors until demolition began in June 2012 following orders from building authorities. Visitors should be aware that the site has not been accessible for many years now.
