Theater der Nacht is a figure theater in Northeim, run by the nonprofit association Theater der Nacht e. V. and housed since 2001 in the former fire station built in 1936–1938 near the St.-Sixti church. Its hall seats 99 spectators, and a 2013 extension reaches into the rear town wall.

The Theater der Nacht grew out of a touring company founded in 1988 by the artist couple Ruth and Heiko Brockhausen. In the mid-1990s the group proposed converting Northeim's former fire station, built in 1936–1938, into a figure theater. Renovation began in May 1999, and the house opened with a ceremony in August 2001; a 2013 extension reaches into the rear city wall.

The name refers to the actors' love of night creatures, dreamlike stories and wondrous figures; fairy tales, myths and legends form the focus. Since 2003 the German office of UNIMA, the oldest international theatre association, has been housed here, and since 2016 the theatre hosts the German figure theatre conference on the last August weekend.

The hall seats 99 spectators, and 80 percent of the roughly 22,000 annual visitors are adults, so the programme is not aimed at children alone. The theatre café opens at weekends with home-baked cakes. The building near St. Sixti church is a low-energy house in the existing stock.

Since 2003 the German office of UNIMA, the oldest international theatre association, has been housed in the building. Since 2016 the theatre has also hosted the German figure theatre conference on the last August weekend, bringing amateurs and professionals together.
