Unabhängiges Jugendzentrum Kornstraße

The Unabhängiges Jugendzentrum Kornstraße occupies a former factory building with multiple facilities including workshops, cinema, printing house, and performance spaces.

Established in 1972 following student movements, the center emerged when five young individuals initially attempted to create a youth space in an empty house on Arndtstraße.

The center functions as a meeting point for various social groups, hosting regular concerts, art exhibitions, workshops, and discussion forums focused on youth engagement.

Located at Kornstraße 28-30 in Hannover, the center expanded its usable space in 2011 through the acquisition of a neighboring building.

The center maintains financial independence through individual loans and small donations, operating without municipal funding since 1979.
