Initially part of the von Alten family estate in the 13th century, the garden transformed into a Baroque layout with a pleasure palace in 1688.
The Förderverein Von-Alten-Garten association organizes theater performances and educational programs about nature throughout the year.
The park remains open daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, featuring multiple entrances including the main gate at Von-Alten-Allee and Posthornstrasse.
The steel tree fountain sculpture by Bernd Schrader marks the entrance plaza, while the Brüningstein monument recalls medieval events.
