Wallfahrtskirche zu Unserer Lieben Frau

The Wallfahrtskirche zu Unserer Lieben Frau is a church building with a high hipped roof and an oval flat dome that shapes the interior space. These two roof forms create a distinctive outline and give the worship area its characteristic appearance.

Construction took place between 1749 and 1751 under architect Franz Kleinhans and replaced an older chapel that dated to 1472. The new building became a pilgrimage destination and has served that purpose for many generations.

Inside, white and grey Rocaille stucco covers the walls and works with frescoes of the Immaculate Conception to create a space for prayer. This artistic decoration shows how visitors experience devotion and beauty together.

The church is located at Lindauer Strasse 39 in Bobingen and is easy to find in the town. Visitors should check opening times before arrival and remember that this remains an active place of worship.

In the churchyard stands a bronze statue of Mary next to a natural stone fountain carved by a local stonemason. Two lime trees complete the outdoor area and date back to the original construction period.
