Villa Wagner

Villa Wagner is a residence with approximately 900 square meters of living space situated on an 8,000 square meter property featuring a designed garden, two swimming pools, and modern building systems. The building now houses the Josef Wagner Foundation and offers guided tours through its preserved rooms.

The villa was built between 1964 and 1965 by architects Schliessmann and Sihler for entrepreneur Josef Wagner during a period of economic growth in Germany. It is now preserved as a foundation headquarters and example of architecture from that prosperous era.

The interior spaces display artworks by noted artists, including ceramic wall pieces by Fred Sterzig and mosaics by Berthold Müller-Oerlinghausen in the indoor pool area. This artistic decoration shapes how the rooms feel when you walk through them.

The building is accessible through organized guided tours that show you the preserved rooms and explain the property's history. Plan time for a leisurely walk through the park and to explore the outdoor areas with the swimming pools.

The house was equipped with advanced home technology for its time, including a control center for all building systems and automatic windows. One of Germany's first microwave ovens was also installed in the kitchen.
