Walpurgiskirche Alsfeld, Gothic church building in Alsfeld, Germany.
The Walpurgis Church features a strengthened octagonal tower reaching 50 meters high, with multiple Gothic architectural elements throughout its structure.
The original tower collapsed in 1394, leading to a reconstruction phase that concluded in 1542 with the addition of a Renaissance-style canopy.
The church contains seven bells, including the oldest afternoon bell from 1333 and the largest Sunday bell manufactured in 1582.
From May to October, the church opens Monday through Saturday between 10:30-12:30 and 13:30-15:30, with modified Sunday hours after services.
A trombone ensemble performs traditional May music every evening during May from the summit of the church tower.
