Wildpark Poing is a wildlife park on the eastern edge of Poing, east of Munich, covering 570,000 square metres. A circular path leads past enclosures of red, fallow and roe deer, wisent, elk, wolves, lynxes and raccoons, plus goats, sheep, horses and donkeys. A marsh biotope area and a forest teaching path lie along the route.
Wildpark Poing was founded in 1959 on private initiative at the eastern edge of Poing. After eleven years of preparatory work, it opened to visitors in 1970. It has since received the plaque "Fachlich geprüftes Deutsches Wildgehege" and the Bavarian Environment Medal.
The park hosts daily demonstrations where staff show how birds of prey hunt and behave, giving visitors a direct look at the skills of these predators. These sessions happen regularly and draw people interested in learning about the region's wildlife.
Access is straightforward, and the park operates year-round with hours varying by season. Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes since the grounds require walking to explore.
The park is home to four brown bears, including mother Mia from Sweden and her three daughters Maja, Mette, and Molly. This family lives in a specially designed area and draws many visitors throughout the year.
