Vortex Garden

Vortex Garden is a private park in Mathildenhöhe featuring stone pathways with 108 egg-shaped stepping stones made from Jurassic limestone arranged around a historic villa. The layout combines geometric forms with water features to create a cohesive design.

The house was built in 1921 when architect Jan Hubert Pinand designed the villa for the Diefenbach family. This structure has shaped the garden setting since its completion over a century ago.

The garden weaves artistic water features and spiral forms throughout its design, creating visual patterns that echo natural movements. These elements shape how people experience and move through the space on their daily visits.

The garden welcomes visitors daily without entrance fees and is easily accessible on foot. Wearing comfortable shoes is advisable since the paths are made of stone and natural materials.

The space reveals double helix and spiral vortex patterns inspired by natural biological forms, subtly woven throughout the design. These patterns become apparent as you walk through the different sections.
