Heilig-Kreuz-Kloster, Catholic pilgrimage church in Kempten, Germany.
The Heilig-Kreuz-Kloster features a 30-meter tower and a church that extends 40 meters in length, accommodating 400 worshippers within its baroque architecture.
Following a reported miraculous blood event in 1691, Prince Abbot Rupert von Bodman authorized the construction of a wooden chapel, replaced by a stone structure in 1711.
The monastery became a spiritual center where over 37,000 pilgrims received communion during peak years, particularly in the period of 1756 to 1757.
The former monastery buildings now serve multiple community purposes, including housing a primary school and functioning as the local parish church for regular services.
The church contains the Blutsäule, a column created in 1780 that depicts five sculpted blood springs commemorating the reported miraculous event.
