Pfarrkirche St. Mauritius, Catholic church in Wiesentheid, Germany
The St. Mauritius Parish Church features sandstone construction with a main portal displaying marriage coats of arms and inscriptions from 1732.
The church underwent reconstruction between 1681 and 1684 under architect Antonio Petrini, followed by renovations from 1728 to 1732 under Count Rudolf Franz Erwein von Schönborn.
Giovanni Francesco Marchini created extensive frescoes between 1728 and 1730, depicting church fathers and the Holy Trinity surrounded by floating cherubs.
The church contains six bells, including three from the 18th century and three from 1952, plus an organ built by Hoffmann Brothers in 1980.
The building serves as a central element of the Wiesentheid Castle ensemble and received its parish status through a decree by Prince-Bishop Albrecht von Hohenlohe in 1364.
