St.Blaise church Hann.Münden

The church exhibits a four-bay hall design with octagonal pillars supporting cross-ribbed vaults that span across the expansive interior space.

The construction of St.Blaise church began in the late 13th century with the chancel and southern lateral apse, followed by the tower completion in 1584.

The church interior contains a bronze baptismal font from 1392, a medieval winged altar, and the tomb of Duke William the Younger from 1503.

From May until Thanksgiving, visitors can explore the church daily between 11 AM and 4 PM, with free parking available at Tanzwerder car park.

The church tower features a distinctive lantern cupola, while the interior preserves visible remnants of an earlier basilica structure beneath the current building.
