Kloster Lohhof

Kloster Lohhof is a monastery complex in Mindelheim arranged in three wings around a central garden space. The compound includes a church, residential buildings, and a cloister that defines its square-shaped layout.

The site was first documented in 1445 and later became the property of the Fugger family. Over the centuries, its use shifted from a monastery to a stud farm and other purposes.

The monastery blends architectural styles from different eras, visible in the ornaments on walls, arches, and doorways throughout the complex. This mix of Neo-Romanesque and Art Nouveau elements shapes how the place looks and feels today.

The St. Anna Chapel beside the monastery displays a rare mix of Romanesque and Art Nouveau elements in a small space. This combination shows how the chapel was transformed and expanded across different construction periods.
