Mariä Geburt

Mariä Geburt is a Catholic pilgrimage church in Witzighausen featuring baroque architecture with an octagonal floor plan. The structure combines an integrated choir section with a separately articulated altar house, creating a distinctive spatial arrangement.

The current building was constructed starting in 1733 in the baroque style. The tower, however, remains from an earlier Gothic church that stood on this site around 1480.

The church serves as a pilgrimage destination for Catholic visitors from the surrounding region and continues to function as an active parish church. Travelers can observe how the space remains integrated into the spiritual life of the local community.

The church is located at Zeisestrasse 20 in Senden and is straightforward to find in the town. Parking is available on the northern side of the building for visitors.

The Zeilhuber organ from 1952 is a distinctive feature inside the church, with 28 registers distributed across three manuals and pedals. This instrument shapes the musical experience during services and special performances.
