Schliersberg, Mountain summit in Upper Bavaria, Germany

Schliersberg is a mountain summit in the Bavarian Prealps with dense forest covering its slopes. The mountain features marked hiking paths, and at around 1,055 meters elevation sits the Schliersbergalm with dining and recreation facilities.

A cable car was installed in 1952 to reach the Schliersbergalm station, which transformed access to the mountain. This infrastructure changed the site from a local destination into a popular excursion spot for the wider region.

The mountain's official name is Rohnberg; Schliersberg comes from the village of Schliersee below, and sources also record the erroneous form Rhonberg. The alm at 1,061 m is a staffed rest stop with 29 hotel rooms, reached since 1952 by a 725 m cable car. A summer toboggan run starts at the top station.

The mountain is accessible on foot via hiking trails from Schliersee village, or conveniently by cable car. The trails are walkable year-round, though snow in winter can change conditions considerably.

The summit itself is wooded, but a timber clearing on its east side opens a view toward the Leitzachtal valley and the Wendelstein massif. The mountain's official name is Rohnberg; Schliersberg is the common usage, and Rhonberg is a frequent misspelling.
