Buchschlag, Garden city district in Dreieich, Germany
Buchschlag is a residential district of Dreieich with extensive housing and a dense network of streets. The area combines homes from different periods with plenty of green spaces scattered between the buildings.
The place emerged in the early 1900s on a forest area following a garden city concept. The district quickly developed into a residential neighborhood as many builders were attracted to construct homes following new architectural ideas.
The district is known for its many Art Nouveau villas designed by different architects following garden city principles. Walking through the streets, you notice the varied building styles and green plots that shape the neighborhood.
The area is easy to reach by commuter rail from Dreieich-Buchschlag station. Trains depart directly to Frankfurt and also connect to the airport through regular regional services.
A former large waste disposal site at the western edge was converted into a modern solar facility. This transformation shows how old industrial areas are now being used for renewable energy production.
