Höllenhof

The Höllenhof building features both sandstone walls from the 13th century and timber-framed sections, with the central part containing the oldest preserved timber framing in Quedlinburg.

Constructed between 1215 and 1301, the building served as accommodation for the Brotherhood of Corpus Christi in the 16th century and later belonged to Friedrich Quenstedt, the electoral city bailiff.

The structure includes a black kitchen from the 17th century and a vaulted cellar, while the upper floor originally functioned as a ceremonial space with large window openings.

Following extensive renovations from 2005 to 2007, the Höllenhof now houses the architectural firm qbatur and stands at Hölle 11, east of the marketplace.

The building operated as the Fürstenhof Cinema in 1912, advertised as Quedlinburg's largest motion picture theater, with a newly constructed cinema hall added in 1888.
