Schloss Dryfels, Medieval château ruins in Berga-Wünschendorf, Germany.

The remains of Schloss Dryfels stand on a mountain spur overlooking the White Elster River valley in the Greiz district of Thuringia.

The castle's first documentation dates to 1216, when knights from Berga served as vassals to the Lords of Lobdeburg before passing to Thuringian control.

The structure underwent multiple transformations, from a medieval fortress to an agricultural school and later accommodated farming activities in the 1950s.

Following severe structural damage in 1994 and subsequent safety concerns, the castle underwent substantial demolition in 2012, leaving limited remnants accessible.

The castle walls contain preserved elements from the 13th and 14th centuries, showcasing the original fortified knight's castle construction methods.
