Wildpark, Wildlife park near central Dülmen, Germany
The 250-hectare park features beech and oak forests, alternating with meadows, two major ponds, and numerous small pools throughout the natural landscape.
The park was established in the 1860s when Duke of Croÿ commissioned Edward Milner to design an English-style landscape with ponds, wooden bridges, and meadows.
Native animals, including fallow deer and moorland sheep, roam freely in the park, maintaining a natural connection between wildlife and the local environment.
Three parking areas serve visitors: Altes Mesem, Am Wasserturm, and Am Hüttendyk, all providing direct walking access to the park entrance without charge.
The park incorporates four smaller circular paths and one large hiking trail, allowing visitors to observe the wildlife while maintaining natural habitats.
