Christoph 62 is a rescue helicopter based at Bautzen Airport in eastern Saxony that provides emergency medical assistance to the surrounding region. The aircraft carries advanced medical equipment and can reach patients quickly when rapid care is needed.
The rescue station at Bautzen Airport began operations in September 1998 and took over emergency medical services that were previously based in Dresden. The helicopter has been modernized several times since then to keep pace with evolving emergency care needs.
