Erlebnishof Krabat-Mühle Schwarzkollm is a cultural center and watermill in the Sorbian Lausitz region that combines a working water mill with exhibition spaces and craft workshops. The site features traditional architecture and allows visitors to watch old milling techniques in operation.
The site was reconstructed in the early 2000s as a tribute to the Krabat legend, an old Sorbian tale about a miller's apprentice. This story from the 17th century shaped how this location was built and designed.
The center showcases Sorbian traditions through performances and exhibitions that visitors can experience directly. You see traditional crafts and learn how this culture is practiced in daily life.
Visitors can join bread-baking workshops in the wood-fired oven and try or watch old milling techniques firsthand. The on-site restaurant serves regional specialties and is a good place to rest between activities.
The facility produces a rare black ice cream and serves traditional buttermilk pancakes in its farmer's parlor while the mill wheel turns nearby. These handcrafted treats are difficult to find elsewhere in Germany.
