Embassy of Saudi Arabia

The Embassy of Saudi Arabia was a diplomatic building located in Bonn's Plittersdorf district along Godesberger Allee at number 40/42. The chancellery structure was built in the mid-1970s and housed the mission's administrative operations and services.

The Saudi Arabian diplomatic mission was established in Bonn in 1957, starting operations at Hotel Königshof. The mission relocated to Villa Rheinallee in 1960 before the new chancellery building was constructed in the mid-1970s.

The embassy maintained a cultural and information office in the Plittersdorf district to foster connections between Saudi Arabian and German societies.

The building sits along a main street in the district and was accessible by car, though the site had restricted public entry as a diplomatic property. The embassy relocated all operations to Berlin in 1999, ending its presence in Bonn.

The mission sponsored and developed the King Fahd Academy in Lannesdorf, constructed between 1994 and 1995 as a notable educational investment. This school project became one of the most visible legacies of the Saudi diplomatic presence in the Bonn area.
