Speicher I, Protected cultural heritage monument in Walle, Germany
The Speicher I stands seven stories tall with a gently sloping gabled roof, extending 226 meters in length and 30 meters in width.
Built between 1948 and 1950, this storage facility replaced the original 1888 structure that was destroyed during World War II operations.
The building represents the industrial heritage of Bremen's harbor district through its exposed steel-concrete grid structure and high-positioned window bands.
The structure contains 36,000 square meters of storage space divided into 16 sections, accessible through heavy-duty elevators and loading ramps.
The renovation in 2006 transformed this former warehouse into modern office and commercial lofts while preserving the original wooden floors.
