Sophienterrasse, Cultural heritage street in Harvestehude, Hamburg, Germany.
Sophienterrasse stretches through the residential district of Harvestehude, featuring protected architectural ensembles and classic buildings along its length.
In 1861, merchant Julius Friedrich Wilhelm Reimers established this private road and named it after his wife Maria Sophie Frederica Reimers.
The street contains a monumental three-winged complex constructed in 1935 for the General Command, which now serves as residential apartments known as Sophienpalais.
The location connects to Harvestehuder Weg and Alsterkamp, providing access to numerous residential properties and public transportation options in Hamburg.
During World War II, Admiral Wilhelm Canaris established the largest branch of German military intelligence at this site, focusing on foreign operations.
