Schloss Wolfring

Schloss Wolfring is a fortified complex in Fensterbach consisting of a main residence, service buildings, and surrounding structures. The site includes a defensive wall, horse stables, a carriage house, various outbuildings, and a forester's dwelling all arranged together at Schlossstrasse 4.

The complex began as a medieval fortification and underwent extensive renovations that reflected the decline of feudal power. As economic systems changed during the early modern period, the fortress lost its military purpose and was gradually transformed into a residence with farming functions.

The place takes its name from its role as a residence of nobility and appears today as a collection of buildings from different periods. It shows how noble households organized their daily life and which spaces were needed to run an estate.

The site is located in a rural area and is best reached using a GPS navigation system with the exact coordinates. The complex is visible from outside, but visitors should respect the privacy of residents and explore only the publicly accessible areas.
