Boehn-Kaserne, Military barracks in Rahlstedt, Germany.
Boehn-Kaserne was a large military complex with numerous buildings serving soldier housing and military operations. The installation spread across an extensive area organized into multiple functional zones for daily military activities.
The site was constructed in 1936 and opened in 1938 as a base for German infantry units. After World War II, British forces took over and occupied the grounds until its closure in 1993.
The barracks are named after its original commander and served successive military powers across decades. The preserved buildings and entrance archways today remind residents of the site's complex military past.
The site is no longer open to visitors as it has been completely converted into a residential neighborhood. Only the preserved buildings and archways are visible from outside and can be seen during a walk through the residential area.
Three original administrative buildings and historical archways were deliberately preserved within the new residential development and remain protected structures. This conservation creates a rare connection between military past and contemporary residential life.
