Eisstadion Kaufbeuren, Ice arena in Kaufbeuren, Germany

Eisstadion Kaufbeuren is a covered ice arena in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria, built around a full-size competition rink with seating and standing areas arranged around the ice. The venue can hold around 3,500 people and is set up for both professional matches and public skating sessions.

The city council decided on 29 July 2014 to build a new hall after the old ice stadium at Berliner Platz had to close for ten months for structural reasons. A citizens' referendum on 18 January 2015 backed a competition-ready venue with about 60 percent. The first symbolic spade cut came on 6 April 2016, the topping-out ceremony on 2 December 2016, and the arena opened on 6 October 2017 after roughly eighteen months of construction.

ESV Kaufbeuren has played its home games here since the arena opened in October 2017; the first was a 1:0 win over EHC Freiburg on 8 October before a full house. The opening of the Kaufbeurer Tänzelfest can also be celebrated in the hall, and in summer it hosts boxing, handball and concerts.

The arena sits in a central part of Kaufbeuren and is easy to reach by public transport. Before visiting, it is worth checking whether the rink is open for public skating or hosting a private event on your chosen day.

The arena's name changed in October 2022 from Erdgas Schwaben Arena to Energie Schwaben Arena when the sponsor rebranded. On 11 April 2019 it hosted its first German national team match, a 2:1 win over Slovakia under new coach Toni Söderholm.
