Schloss Zinneberg

Schloss Zinneberg sits on the eastern slope of Zinneberg hill, with dense forest surrounding and partially concealing its structures. The complex includes workshops, a bakery, a monastery shop, and guest rooms arranged across the property.

The castle was first documented in 1332 as a noble residence and underwent major changes under owners including the Fugger family. Countess Maria Leopoldine also contributed to its transformation before it took on its current purpose.

The Sisters of Good Shepherd use the castle today for educational programs and youth support that continue daily within its walls. These activities show how the place shapes community life and what role it plays in the region.

Visitors can explore the castle and its grounds throughout the year and move between different areas of the complex. Those planning to stay overnight have guest rooms available, and the bakery and monastery shop are open to visitors.

A freestanding wooden staircase from 1905 connects three floors within the castle and showcases remarkable craftsmanship. This architectural feature remains an example of the construction skills of that era.
