ZCOM, Computer museum in Hoyerswerda, Germany.
ZCOM is a computer museum in Hoyerswerda that displays the evolution of computing technology from the 20th century to today. The exhibition spans about 1000 square meters (10,800 square feet) and includes working machines alongside historical documents and everyday devices.
The museum was founded in 1995 and started very small but grew steadily over the years. A major expansion in 2016 added significantly more exhibition space to show a larger collection of machines and their stories.
The collection shows how computers changed daily life and work for people over time. You see the machines that once filled offices and homes, and how people actually used them.
Plan for about one to two hours to view the machines and read the information at a comfortable pace. There are no large food or drink facilities on-site, so bring refreshments with you if you plan to spend extended time there.
Many of the computers and machines on display still work, which is quite rare for such old equipment. This gives visitors a direct sense of how these machines actually functioned in their time.
