Modellbahn Wiehe, Model railway exhibition in Wiehe, Germany

Modellbahn Wiehe is an exhibition hall with numerous model railway layouts in different scales and detailed landscapes. The layouts depict stations, cities, and countryside scenes that have been carefully recreated and feature trains from different historical periods.

The exhibition was founded in 1997 and grew into Germany's largest permanent model railway show. It documents railway history through miniatures and shows how trains and infrastructure changed over decades.

Since the 2000s the exhibition has carried the name Kultur mit Pfiff – Modellbahn Wiehe, because special shows on regional and global cultural history were added to the model layouts. These include a replica of the Chinese Terracotta Army, on display since November 2008, an Easter Island section and a Templar painting. A children's playground, a restaurant and a park railway round off the visit.

The location is easy to find and offers plenty of space for a relaxed visit without crowding. Visitors should plan enough time to explore the different layouts at leisure and appreciate the details.

A special feature is the different scales and formats of the models, showing how differently the hobby can be interpreted. Beyond classical European railways, there are also trains and landscapes from other continents, giving the collection a worldwide perspective.
