Josty-Brauerei, Architectural heritage monument in Oranienburger Vorstadt, Berlin, Germany.
The five-story brewery building features neo-Renaissance elements with detailed facades, inner courtyards, and three-story economic wings constructed between 1860 and 1880.
Swiss entrepreneur Daniel Josty established the brewery in 1831, initially producing chocolate beverages before expanding into malt beer production until operations ceased in 1903.
The building complex reflects the industrial development of Berlin during the 19th century when small breweries defined the economic landscape of the growing city.
Located near Oranienburger Gate U-Bahn station and S Nordbahnhof train station, the building now houses seven residential units with modern amenities and kitchenettes.
Between 1994 and 1995, architects Elwardt and Lattermann received heritage preservation awards for their renovation work on this former brewery turned residential complex.
