Lindau-Reutin station, railway station in Lindau, Germany
Lindau-Reutin station is a through station on the mainland of Lindau on Lake Constance, serving as a junction where different train lines meet. The modern facility on Bregenzer Straße has two main platforms: one for regional trains and one for long-distance services to Munich, Zurich, and Dortmund.
The station opened in December 2020, replacing earlier facilities that had primarily served freight traffic. The modernization was part of a larger project to improve rail connections in the region and allowed passenger capacity to increase by roughly 75 percent.
The station reflects Lindau's role as a trading town and border crossing point. For visitors, it now serves as a meeting point between Germany and Austria, where everyday travel and international journeys mix openly.
The station is easy to reach by bus or car and features ramps, lifts, and clear signage for all travelers. Several bus lines connect the station to other parts of Lindau and the surrounding region, making transfers between different modes of transport straightforward.
Travel times to Zurich and Munich were shortened through track electrification and now take roughly 2 hours and just under 2 hours respectively. The new infrastructure enables these faster connections, making day trips to those major cities practically feasible.
