St. Petri

St. Petri church rises 65 meters into the sky, displaying red brick construction with pointed arches and vertical lines characteristic of northern German architecture.

The structure evolved from its initial Romanesque form in 1170 to a Gothic hall church between 1440 and 1480, marking architectural transitions of medieval Germany.

The interior features a baroque pulpit from 1710 and a 15th-century altar, representing different periods of religious artistry in Saxony-Anhalt.

Visitors can reach the church via the Magdeburg-Wittenberge railway line, with the station located within walking distance of the building.

The church maintains its original 15th-century organ, which underwent restoration in 2014 to preserve its historical sound characteristics.
