Mazda-Museum Augsburg, Automobile museum in Augsburg, Germany.
The Mazda Museum Augsburg is an automobile museum housed in a former tram depot from 1897, displaying about 50 restored vehicles across roughly 1500 square meters (16,000 sq ft). The venue combines the building's historic architecture with modern exhibition spaces and also offers event facilities, dining, and a retail shop.
The collection was assembled by a local Mazda dealer over several decades, leading to the museum's opening in 2017. This represents the first Mazda collection established outside Japan, marking the brand's global expansion.
The collection tells the story of Mazda's evolution from a Japanese cork producer to a global carmaker through the vehicles on display. Visitors can trace how the brand changed over time and which models found success in different regions.
The museum is open on various days during the week and is easily accessible by public transport connecting to Augsburg. Free parking is available on-site and the venue accommodates visitors with different mobility needs.
Among the displayed vehicles is a rare Pathfinder XV 1, a military vehicle primarily produced and used in Myanmar. This model is seldom found in European collections, revealing an unexpected chapter of Mazda's industrial history.
