Schloss Niederaichbach

Schloss Niederaichbach is a castle in Bavaria with two residential wings, a corner tower, and cream-colored facades that display typical Bavarian architecture. The grounds include several courtyards, service buildings, and stables arranged in a rectangular layout with an integrated gatehouse.

Franz Nikolas von Königsfeld built the castle between 1672 and 1675, shaping the regional architecture of the time. Major renovations followed a fire in 1892 and helped preserve the structure to the present day.

The St. Barbara chapel in the south wing dates from 1682 and shows devotional objects and decorations that reflect local religious practices. You can see here how faith and art were woven into the daily life of those who lived in the castle.

The grounds are easy to explore on foot, with paths connecting the different buildings and courtyards. The layout makes it simple to navigate and view all areas from the outside.

The wooden roof framework uses St. Andrew's crosses for lengthwise reinforcement, an advanced building technique from the 17th century. This construction method shows the craftsmanship and engineering knowledge of the era.
