Wasserschloss, Baroque water castle in Wolnzach, Germany

The Wasserschloss features two floors with a hipped roof and an intricately structured portal adorned with a broken pediment from 1709.

The castle experienced destruction during the Thirty Years War in 1632 when Swedish troops burned down both the structure and the Wolnzach market.

Emperor Charles VII held strategic military consultations with his generals at the Wolnzach Castle during the Austrian Succession War in 1743.

The castle grounds now serve as a public festival area, located in the center of Wolnzach, offering space for community gatherings and events.

The structure underwent reconstruction in 1697, funded by profits from Turkish wars and financial support from the Fugger von Schwindegg family.
